Sam Hentges is a 2014 1B/LHP with a 6-5 185 lb. frame from Shoreview, MN who attends Mounds View HS. Broad shouldered long limbed build, outstanding physical projection. Left handed hitter, deep load, smooth long power swing, develops bat speed out front, can hit bombs in BP, will need to shorten up in games. 7.44 runner, some agility around first base bag. Also pitches, drifting leg raise delivery, short cross body stride, no use of lower half, arm works well and is loose out front, fastball topped out at 83 mph, curveball will flash good spin when released out front. Lots of potential to improve on the mound. Good student.
