Kaleb Long is a 2009 C/OF that attends Halifax County HS and resides in Halifax, VA with a 5'11", 175 lb. frame. Kaleb has an athletic build and showed a very good set of catching tools. He is a young player with good upside. At the plate Kaleb's swing is a little choppy and he tends to cut under the ball. He will need to work on keeping his weight back and leveling his swing plane to see his performance at the plate improve. Defensively Kaleb showed great actions behind the plate. He has a strong arm with a quick release and produced one of the top pop times at the event. (2.00) Kaleb is a player that will attract the attention of many mid to high-level college programs in a few years.

Kaleb Long is a 2009 C/3B from Halifax HS in Halifax, VA with a 5'11", 174 lb. frame. Kaleb has an athletic build and had one of the better pop times at 2.06. He caught Jeremy Jeffress as a high school freshman so there is no question on his ability to handle top-level pitching. At the plate Kaleb is a very aggressive hitter that really attacks the baseball. He has good present strength and bat speed but can sometimes get a little too long in his stride. If he shortens up his approach he will see more consistent results at the plate. Kaleb looked very polished behind the plate. He showed soft hands with a quick release and transfer behind the plate. His throws had nice carry and he looks like he could be a highest-level college catching prospect. Kaleb did well behind the plate during the showcase and could be a mid to high-level college prospect.
