Furquan Shorts is a 2015 2B with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from New Orleans, LA who attends St. Augustine HS. Very strong athletic build, stands out in the uniform. 6.70 runner, athletic infield actions, good hands, raw footwork which inhibits his present range, arm strength developing but still very young. Right handed hitter, open low hand set up. stays short and direct to the ball, quick hands, may be too compact, squares up the ball to all fields. Young player who has quick twitch muscles and present strength. Skills still need developing but has a ceiling, follow very carefully. Good student.
