Tucker Johnson is a 2008 RHP/3B/SS with a 6'1'', 170 lb. frame from Coronado, CA, who attends Coronado HS. Johnson has a tall, lean, and projectable frame. On the mound he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with solid arm action and arm speed. There is minimal effort in his delivery, and he stays balanced throughout. He pitches off his fastball that topped out at 84 mph, while working at 81-84 mph. He throws strikes with all three pitches, and he works both corners with his fastball. Johnson throws a 12/6 curveball with depth at 66 mph, and he mixes in a 68 mph change with sinking action. He struck out 9 in 4 innings, and has upside on the mound. Defensively he has quick feet with solid actions. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an average base with a step back trigger. He has quiet hands and shows bat speed. He is an aggressive hitter who likes the ball down in the zone. He is excellent student as well.
