Todd Waller is a 2006 third baseman from Cape Coral HS in Florida, with a 6'1", 195 lb. frame. Waller is physically mature and very strong and solid throughout. He has quick feet for his size and runs the 60 in 7.27. His best tool defensively is his arm strength. He threw 86 mph across the infield in drills and makes strong, accurate throws during games. Waller has the ability to charge the ball and make strong off balance throws as well. Waller didn't pitch at the National Showcase but we've seen him often in the past on the mound and he shows the same type of arm strength as a pitcher, throwing from the mid to upper 80's. Offensively, Waller has a rock back load with a long, powerful swing that creates very good power. Right now it's primarily gap to gap line drive power but Waller has the strength and bat speed to loft the ball as well. Waller is a solid performer who comes to play every day. He is also a very good student.

Todd Waller is a 2006 third baseman from Cape Coral, FL. With very good present strength on his 6'1" frame and a good balance of baseball skills. He’s pretty thick throughout his body now, but it’s a positive strong type of thick that maintains athletic life. Waller has a short, compact swing with good balance. It’s a surprisingly short swing for a young hitter with wood and Waller must be a terror with metal in his hands. Another positive for Waller is that he seems to be a patient hitter who has an understanding of the strike zone. Waller has very good arm strength for third base, registering 86 mph across the diamond, and his hands and feet play well, too. Waller will have to watch his body to make sure he doesn’t get too thick, but he looks like a strong college prospect right now who does a lot of good things on the field. Could create some MLB scouting interest as well. Todd is a good student.

Todd Waller -- Waller is a strong, athletic sophomore right hander from Florida with good physical development for a young prospect. He also has two good pitches in a tailing fastball that is 84-85 mph and a 73 mph curveball that has very good sharp biting action to it. Waller uses his curveball as his out pitch and with good reason; it’s sharp and hard and induces a lot of poor swings. Waller’s mechanics are sound and he gets good use of his lower half. He’s also a good prospect as a third baseman. Waller is an aggressive hitter who takes a full rip at the ball from a tall stance and lofts the ball far to center and right field. He showed good bat head control during the games for a young player with such a hard swing, too. When he turns on the ball and pulls it, he’s going to hit some impressive home runs. Waller’s defense was solid at third, too. This is a premium prospect to watch for the next couple of years. Todd is a very good student.

Waller is a young "06" 3B/P from Florida. He has a strong solid 6'1/190 body. Defensively: Fair actions, good hands, needs to improve footwork. Tends to field ground balls on the throwing arm side, very strong arm. On the mound: RHP with a loose, live arm that projects well. His motion is smoooth and he knows how to pitch. He throws from a 3/4 slot with sound mechanics. His fastball is 82-84 with two-seam tail and sink that will get stronger with maturity. His 66-68 curve has a tight 11-5 rotation with some bite. He needs to develop a change. One to watch very closely. At the plate: Drifts to frontside at contact. Pro style high hands set up with a good path to the ball. When he stays back he shows above average power with even more projection. Athletic actions with balance. Mashed a few off some good pitching. An "06" to watch!
