David Villar is a 2015 3B/1B with a 6-1 187 lb. frame from Pembroke Pines, FL who attends American Heritage HS. Large broad shouldered athletic build, strong with lots of room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, simple swing mechanics, stays balanced and calm, some length to swing but has very good bat speed for his age, handles the barrel and makes hard contact, loose tension free swing that projects. 7.53 runner, good footwork defensively, moves well and fields the ball out front, will have to soften his hands, low arm slot with some present arm strength for his age, has the athleticism to keep developing as a third baseman. Good student. Named to the Top Prospect Team.
