Joey Ruiz is a 2014 1B/RHP with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Suwanee, GA who attends Peachtree Ridge HS. Large projectable frame with a strong build. Has a leg stride start at the plate, strength in his swing, has lift in his swing, quick hands, is short to the ball. Has bat speed, makes solid contact at the plate, has pop in bat, goes with the pitch well. Has an over the top release point from 1st base, moves feet to the ball at first base, long wing span. Pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot, long loose arm action, smooth online delivery, is around the plate with his pitches, attacks hitters, and has life on his fastball. Is an excellent student.
