Zachary Bennett is a 2011 SS/RHP, IF, OF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Myrtle Creek, OR who attends South Umpqua. Lean and athletic build, long limbs. Good hands and feet on the infield, made plays during games, clean transfer and release with on target throws across the infield. Open stance at the plate, longer swing path but gets the bat head through the zone. Leg kick with pull contact approach, squares up. Low 3/4 release point on the mound, slings at times and is tough on right handed hitters. Offspeed is still developing but shows the makings of a quality curveball. Locates well on both sides of the plate and is athletic getting off the mound and fielding his position.
