Thanasi Lycou is a 2012 LHP/1B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Albuquerque, NM who attends Albuquerque Academy. Nice athletic frame, room to get stronger. Low effort delivery, long arm action in back, 3/4's release point, repeats well. Upper 70's fastball, occasional southpaw running life. Change up best pitch, good arm speed and fading action. Tight spin on 12/6 curveball, good shape and gets on top consistently. Works pitches in and out and mixes it up, pitches to spots. Should keep improving on the mound. Left handed hitter, bend knee wide stance, big aggressive swing, uppercut plane, has some strength and raw bat speed, looking to pull, one-dimensional approach but can drive the ball. Good student.
