Michael Beattie is a 5'10", 175 lb. right handed hitting 2005 catcher from Lusby, Maryland. He hits from a very spread stance with a small leg lift trigger and high hands that create a downward plane to the ball. Beattie’s best contact was up the middle and to right centerfield. Defensively, Beattie worked hard behind the plate blocking balls and working with the pitchers. He shows some arm strength but needs to significantly shorten his release and simplify his footwork on throws. Michael is a very good student.
