Matthew Sisto is a 2008 1B/P with a 6'5'', 215 lb. frame from Anaheim, CA who attends Cypress HS. He has a tall, well proportioned frame that carries strength well and he's really done good work firming himself up. Until this summer, we mostly thought of Sisto as a pitching prospect but we've changed out minds on that. He had an excellent showcase with the bat and was really able to show his tools. Sisto hits from a balanced stance with a limited stride and a quick, leveraged swing. He has the hand strength to keep his swing short at his height and still hit the ball deep in the zone. He crushed balls from the middle half in and the ball made that different sound coming off the bat. He doesn't have a lot of obvious lift in his swing but he hit some deep bombs in BP to show his raw power. It looked easy to him. Sisto is also very athletic around the first base bag and will be an asset there. Sisto was good off the mound, too. He's not a power pitcher and doesn't project as one but was 87-90 mph on his fastball with a good curveball and change up. He knows how to pitch and does a nice job spotting the ball and working hitters. As a college guy he could be an outstanding two-way player but his bat shows the most pro promise. Sisto is a very good student and has a verbal to Hawaii.

Matthew Sisto is a 2008 1B/P with a 6'5'', 215 lb. frame from Anaheim, CA who attends Cypress. He has a big framed build with long arms and legs and more growth potential. Sisto is at the point where he's about equal as a pitching prospect and a power hitting first baseman. He threw up to 88 mph at the showcase with good tempo to his delivery and a nice downhill plane to the plate. Sisto has a long and loose arm action and throws a heavy, sinking fastball low in the strike zone consistently. Sisto's curveball has a big slurve type break and his change up has nice sinking action like his fastball. Where Sisto has really improved is with his bat speed. He showed very good hand quickness from an open stance, with impressive bat speed and some lift in his swing. The ball really carried well of Sisto's bat and he hit some bombs. His approach at the plate looked mature and confident. It will be fun to see how Sisto develops in the future but his game is really moving forward. He is a very good student who has committed to Hawaii.

Matthew Sisto is a 2008 RHP 1B/C with a 6'5'', 215 lb. frame from Anaheim CA, who attends Cypress HS. Selected as a Top Prospect at this event, he is one of the top prospects in the '08 class in Southern CA. Sisto has a large, broad frame; a power pitcher's body. He pitches from a high 3/4 slot, with a long arm action. Sisto creates good leverage with his arm stroke and gets to decent frontside extension. He has a loose, quick, strong arm that should allow him to continue to climb in velocity, though he will need to develop a better delivery. For the most part he does not incorporate much lower body in his delivery, and finishes his pitches in a bit of an upright position. Sisto's fastball is alive, topping at 88 mph and sitting 84-87. He can sink it or ride, but it is hard to tell if he can manipulate the ball that well or if his movement varies because his release point is not consistent. In any case, he has a good fastball, getting hitters to swing at the high heater quite frequently. His stuff jumps on hitters quickly due to his arm working quite easily, with pretty low effort. Maybe Sisto's release point is tough to pick up. He also has a good curveball that can bite with late action. When he is patient in his delivery and gets closer to full extension, all stuff has lively downward movement. Sisto is a high end student and pitches at one of the top programs in Southern CA. He only pitched in this event, but we have seen his show tremendous bat speed and produce an awful lot of carry that results in well above average power potential.

Matt Sisto is a 2008 right handed pitcher/right hand hitting 1st baseman from Cypress HS, residing in Anaheim, CA. He has a 6'5" 210 lb. frame that is very broad, the type of body that scouts look for in power pitching prospect. Sisto has enough raw ability to have been chosen a top prospect at this event and in the future is going to be very well-regarded. He has a loose arm and a quick arm stroke. His delivery is simple and he displayed surprising rhythm for a young pitcher with his size. He uses a short stride which allows him to get downhill quickly with his arm and produces good angle on his pitches. Sisto's fastball topped at 85 and clearly he has plenty more in there, with 90 not being far off for him. His fastball has sinking action and the type of movement that can break bats. He has a big curveball with late sweeping action that locked up more than one hitter. His feel of the ball is good and all his stuff moves away from the middle of the zone. Though he is likely to be recruited as a pitcher only because of his upside potential, Sisto can swing the bat. The ball jumps and spins very well off his bat, resulting in plus carry. He is aggressive and has good bat speed. He creates that carry from a steep swing plane and showed the ability to not miss pitches in his zone. Sisto keeps his swing simple, staying short to the ball and relying on his reactive hands and quick trigger. Defensively he showed good hands, an easy arm, and was good around the bag. He is a good D1 prospect and if the velocity continues to develop as expected, he is a pro prospect as well. For some college programs he could be considered a two-way prospect.

Mathew Sisto is a 2008 catcher/right handed pitcher from Anaheim, California with a huge projectable frame at 6'4", 200 pounds. He hits from an open stance with a small stride and a leg lift trigger for timing. He has quick hands to the ball with a short stroke and shows very good bat speed. He is raw at the plate but he shows excellent potential to hit for big time power. Behind the plate, he receives the ball with soft hands and has a quick transfer and release. He popped a 2.08 with a strong arm at 71 mph with good accuracy. He pitches from a 3/4 slot with a compact arm action in back. He has good mechanics, and releases the ball out front with good extension. His fastball topped out at 79 mph, but we have seen him much faster at previous events. He gets good depth on his 11-5 curveball at 62 mph. He did not show a change. He is a young kid with a big frame. A high level prospect with 2-way potential. Mathew is a very good student.
