Morgan is a barrell chested 6-0, 195 lb left handed pitcher from Virginia. He is a rotational thrower with a stiff and strong upper body. Morgan has some deception to his delivery and doesn't look very easy to hit. He pounded the strike zone with a 79-81mph fastball that had very heavy sinking action at times. It's hard to lift that kind of pitch for any type of hitter when Morgan was pitching down in the zone. Morgan's curveball was 69 mph and showed good, sharp spin and a tight break. He also dropped down low 3/4's to left handed hitters and threw a 76 mph slider. Morgan did a good job of throwing strikes and keeping the ball down in the strike zone. He isn't especially projectable but his present stuff is difficult to hit hard and he knows how to use it effectively. Morgan also played some outfield and threw 83 mph during outfield drills. He has some bat speed and strength at the plate from the same type of rotational swing that he shows in his pitching delivery.
