Jacob Pitts is a 2011 LHP/1B with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Nederland, TX who attends Nederland HS. Tall slender build, some strength in his hips. Big hand drop delivery, some drift towards to plate, compact arm action has to rush to catch up, extended 3/4's release, arm is loose and works well. Upper 70's fastball touched 81 mph, curveball had proper shape and spin, cut FB occasionally and shows slider potential. Needs to attack hitters more aggressively, looks like he has more power in his arm. Tall hitting stance, good base and load, some bat speed, ball comes off the barrel well, has some strength. Good student.
