Austin DeCarr is a 2013 RHP/SS with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Foxboro, MA who attends Xaverian Brothers HS. Lean athletic build, good strength potential, projects well. Big leg raise delivery, hands stay low, leans off plate at release, doesn't repeat release point. Primary fastball pitcher, topped out at 86 mph, very consistent cutting action. Soft curveball due to delivery/release, might be better off with a true slider, developing change up. Has prospect tools as a third baseman. Very good raw arm strength, long actions and release but shows athletic ability. Loose extended right handed swing, stays inside well, drives the ball to the gaps, squares it up, could develop serious power. Follow as a two-way prospect. Good student.
