John Little is a 2006 RHP/1B/OF from Kings Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida, with a 6'5'', 190 lb. frame. Little is a tall and athletic pitcher with good arm speed from a high 3/4 arm slot. He has solid mechanics with a short arm circle on the back side of his delivery, and works quickly on the mound. His fastball topped out at 81 mph and we project that he will throw harder in the future. Little throws a big sweeping curveball at 65 mph and he throws the pitch for strikes. He has a projectable body and projectable velocity on the mound. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who showed very good raw power during batting practice when he hit 3 home runs. He has good bat speed with an uppercut swing. Little gets good leverage at contact that helps generate good power potential. A two-way player with upside, and he is an excellent student as well.

Little is a 6-5, 185 lb senior right handed pitcher from Florida with a slender body that hasn’t begun to fill out yet. He has a good ability to repeat his mechanics for a big, young pitcher and does a good job of throwing strikes. Little’s effectiveness is helped by his ability to hide the ball during his delivery and by the downhill plane he maintains to the plate on his pitches. His fastball topped out at 80 mph during his 3 innings of work at the showcase. Little’s change up was pretty good and he wasn’t afraid to use it but he ideally needs to take off a little more velocity from 71-73. Little’s 57-60 mph curveball needs more development and he might be better suited for a slider in the future.

Little is a junior right handed pitcher from Florida with a long and slender 6-4 frame that should gradually get stronger as he gets older. He threw 4 innings at the showcase, pitching between 75 and 80 mph on his fastball with some running action. Little also threw a 63-68 mph curveball that had a sweeping 10/4 type of break and a nice 68 mph change up. Little plays first base in the field and had a nice swing with some lift to it that could develop power if he gets stronger. Little is also a very good student.
