Jenkins is a senior left handed hitting outfielder from Iowa. He has good present strength in his 5-10 body and is a well conditioned athlete. Jenkins hits from a slightly hunched over stance with his hands way back, which creates a sweeping swing with wood and keeps him from using his natural strength. This approach probably works much better with metal. Defensively, Jenkins shows good range in the outfield and made some nice running catches during the games. He has a long, flowing arm action and threw 76 mph during workouts. Jenkins ran the 60 in 7.31. He’s a tough kid who plays hard and is a very good student, too.

Jenkins is a sophomore outfielder who is still young but can play the game. He is not big and his tools have not developed into the prospect range of some seniors but he did show ability to make plays, swing a good bat and flash potential for the College level in 2 years. He throws left-handed and had 72 mph velocity on his throws from the outfield. He is mobile and made the plays defensively. His hitting actions are good and he appeared to hit with a heavier version of Maple bat, which could have slowed his bat-speed down. We liked his swing and he did finish strong with nice extension. As he gets bigger and stronger he will show even more.
