Patrick Scoggin is a 2009 RHP/1B with a 6'4'', 250 lb. frame from Richmond, VA who attends Douglas S Freeman. Scoggin has a big frame and uses a 3/4 arm angle, his fastball reached the low 90's at the Metrodome. His fastball has life and he throws a good slider that is sharp. He also threw a curveball and showed very good pitchability. He located everything well and kept everything away from the middle of the plate. He also showed big power at the plate and competed in the Rawlings Home Run Challenge. This is a big guy with some serious talent and a great arm. He has verbally committed to Virginia Tech.
