Chase Yost is a 2008 OF with a 6'1'', 185 lb. frame from Solvang, CA who attends Santa Ynez HS. He has a really good frame that strong and athletically built. Yost has some twitch fiber and has good raw ability. He does have good bat speed and is strong, which in time should play out as some power. However, he has a severely closed stance that cuts off his hips and forces him to go way around the ball. If he can adjust his set-up and work in more linear direction Yost could come on really quickly. He does have tools to hit. Defensively he showed a solid arm and threw accurately. He runs quite well and moves with athleticism and some explosiveness. Given time and good coaching Yost could develop into an impact player. He plays hard and his desire to compete was very apparent.
