Logan Self is a 2009 RHP/3B/1B with a 6'2'', 185 lb. frame from Summerfield, NC who attends NW Guilford HS. He has a nice athletic build with some length and projectble strength. Self has a clean delivery with a long two-piece arm action in back. His arm action is loose and tension free and comes through at a 3/4's release point. Self's fastball was in the 81-83 mph range and touched 84 mph and had good southpaw running action. Self's 70 mph curveball was a good pitch with a sharp 12/6 type of break and he showed some feel for a 75 mph change up. Self pitched around the plate with all three pitches and had a good idea of how to pitch. Given his athletic build and looseness, he's a good bet to keep improving and gaining velocity as he matures.
