Daurys De La Cruz is a FA RHP with a 6'2'', 170 lb. frame from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He has a tall and slender build with limited present strength. DeLaCruz throws from an upright delivery with a hard front leg on landing and some effort on release. His mechanics are raw and he had trouble repeating his release point. DeLaCruz had a quick arm from a high 3/4's release point and a bit of an Iron Mike type of arm action. His fastball was 86-89 mph and pretty straight. He showed some good spin on a 71 mph curveball with 12/6 type of break and good bite at times. The basic tools are there for DeLaCruz to keep improving and it looks like he is a good athlete.
