Nunez is a 5-8 junior outfielder/infielder from Miami with a slender, lively body. Nunez showed good raw tools in the workouts, running 7.18 in the 60 and throwing 82 from the outfield. He showed some wiry strength to his 145 lb frame in batting practice and the ball came off his bat pretty well to the right side. Nunez stands pretty far off the plate with an open stance and chokes up on the bat about 2, which hurts his plate coverage during games. He has the quick twitch muscles and raw bat speed to be very good on the offensive side of the game. Nunez is also a very good student.

Gabriel Nunez is a 5'7" infielder from the strong Pace HS program in Miami, Florida. He’s a 2006 prospect whose best tool is his quickness and body life. He ran a 7.18 in the 60, and shows good first step quickness in the field and on the bases. Nunez has some hand strength for his size and produces some bat speed with wood, although a hand hitch leaves him late on many pitches. Defensively, Nunez profiles best at second base. He has a quick side arm release and his feet work well around the bag. As long as he can maximize and use his speed aggressively, Nunez will be a solid player.
