RHP Robbie Jensen (Marshalltown CC, IA): Jenson is a big and strong 6-3, 240 junior college right hander who fits the college power closer mode. He has an aggressive approach on the mound and a drop and drive delivery that gives him some deception at a mid ¾’s to occasionally sidearm release point. Jensen’s fastball was in the upper 80’s and topped out at 90 and he threw a 75 mph slurve and a 77 mph change up that were good secondary pitches.

At 6 foot 4 and 215 pounds, Jensen shows potential as a 2 way impact player at the next level. He has a powerful arm and a powerful bat. We have seen him several times before and he has shown home run power with wood and upper 80's velocity on the hill. This winter at the indoor showcase Jensen showed 3 pitches with pretty good control. He showed a fastball that sat in the 83-86 mph range from a strong 3/4 arm slot. His arm action is not described as loose but shows fast arm-speed and a good finish. He pulls off the ball with some effort but he gets usage from his body on the over-rotation. We have seen him throw harder and if the winter showing is any indication of where he will be in the spring he could be touching 90 mph soon. His curve and change-up were both consistently in the 74 mph range with a good arm action. He has the strength and has the pitches, now it is up to him this spring to prove that he can elevate his game to the next level.

Jensen has the makings to become a real power type pitcher. He has outstanding life on his high 80s fastball. He's big and strong with a whip for an arm.
