Eli Kelly is a 2010 RHP/OF with a 5'5'', 120 lb. frame from Corona CA, who attends Riverside Christian HS. He is a very young player, with a small frame and narrow build that hasn't started to add strength yet. Kelly has an in line delivery with some effort on release that cuts off his arm extension out front. His fastball was 68-72 mphwith some sinking action and he did a good job of throwing to both sides of plate. Kelly's breaking ball was a big breaking 58 mph curveball and he showed some feel for a 63 mph sinking change up. Kelly had a good idea on the mound and some pitchability for his age. Offensively, Kelly hits from a slightly closed stance with good balance and a level, line drive swing plane. He shows the ability to make consistent contact to all fields and can hit the ball deep in the zone. Kelly will have to get stronger to handle mature high school pitching and a wood bat but he has good hitting fundamentals. He's a 8.54 runner who threw 64 mph from the outfield. Kelly is a very good student.
