Kelly is a rangy 6-2, 185 lb infielder from Texas with a live, projectable body. He ran the 60 in 7.30 and threw 80 mph during infield drills. Kelly’s infield actions are very smooth and balanced and he projects out as a college level defender at any infield position, especially if his arm strength improves a bit. He is particularly good at charging the ball and making a quick, accurate throw. Offensively, Kelly is a top level hitting prospect who shows both power potential and the ability to manipulate the bat head. He sets up in a tall, narrow stance and is very quick and short to the ball. He showed us he could drive pitches to all fields with authority and is going to keep improving as he gets stronger. Kelly is a very good college prospect overall who can do a lot of good things on the baseball field.
