Eddy Guerrero: Guerrero is a primary right handed pitcher who we liked almost as well as a hitter/position player, too. He’s a live bodied 5-10 athlete with a strong, mature lower half. Guerrero threw his fastball in the 83-85 mph range and did a good job of keeping the pitch down in the zone and getting ground balls. Both Guerrero’s 70 mph slurve and his change were solid secondary pitches, especially the slurve, which can be pretty sharp at times. As a position player, Guerrero shows surprising strength in his swing for his size and generates some bat speed and pop with wood. His feet work well and he has good balance moving to the ball in the middle of the field. Guerrero’s arm strength is plenty to play shortstop at the next level as well.
