The Homeplate Chilidogs got on the board in the top of the first inning and didn't look back, holding on to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays Scout Team, 3-2 in the WWBA World Championship's first tournament game.

Carter Perkins (McDonough, GA, 2015) drove in the team's third run with a line drive single in the third inning.
Jabari Richards (Fayetteville, GA, 2015) paced the offense with a pair of singles and a run scored.
The Toronto Blue Jays Scout Team attempted a comeback in the bottom of the third when they scored a pair of runs.
Tripp Aversa (Fountain Valley, CA, 2015) drove in the team's first run with a line drive single to center field.
Jeremy Pena (Providence, RI, 2015) connected for the game's lone extra-base hit with a double to left field in the first inning.
Adam Goodman (Fayetteville, GA, 2015) and
Jordan Schmits (Sharpsburg, GA, 2015) combined for the seven inning effort. Goodman tossed 5 innings and gave up 5 hits and 2 runs (1 earned), while allowing no walks and striking out 4 in the win.
