20-Navy vs. 17-Gold Game Highlights
12/29/2016 12:00:00 AM
Hayden Cross (2018 C, Sanford, NC) starts in a slightly open stance with slight bat waggle.  Showed the ability to hit pitches low in the zone singling a line drive back up the middle.  Also turned on a pitch in a later at bat showing loud contact off the barrel.  Behind the plate, he back-picked the runner at first base.

Blayne Robinson (2019 1B, Defiance, OH) singled twice in the leadoff spot for the 20-Navy squad.  Robinson has an extra-large frame with present strength.  At the plate he showed good bat speed and does a nice job of staying inside the ball nicely while maintaing a fluid stroke.

Corey King (2018 3B, Lithonia, GA) doubled in his first at bat and later singled.  King has solid strength while staying short to the baseball.  He also flashed in speed getting down the baseline quickly.

Bradley Prince Jr (2018 C, Cumming, GA) barreled up the baseball nicely today in both at bats.  He showed a good weight shift while maintaing balance in his swing.  His bat speed was present in his first at bat double shooting the opposite-field gap nicely.

Jared Dole (2018 RHP, Bradenton, FL) was up to 85 mph in his outing.  His fastball showed some arm side bite and he also showed good feel for his off speed pitches.

Jalen Jones (2018 SS, McDonough, GA) has a lean athletic build that suits him well both in the field and on the mound.  Jones sat 81-85 mph and topped 86 mph in his one inning of work on the mound attacking hitters constantly.

Kyle Harbison (2019 C, Georgetown, KY) moves well down the line and has some feel for going the opposite way.  He showed good barrel control and uses his skills nicely going two for two singling twice in his two plate appearances

Julian Jackson (2018 RHP, Powder Springs, GA) struck out four batters in his three innings of work only giving up a total of four hits and one earned run.  Jackson has an extra large build and projects to add to it.  He has a quick arm and shows the ability to get downhill.  His fastball has good life from his high three-quarters arm slot and works well away from hitters.
