Jose Amaro Luna (2017 RHP, Cidra, PR) had his fastball top out at 82mph this afternoon pairing it with a slider at 73mph. Luna has an over the top delivery attacking hitters with his fastball and throws both pitches for strikes.
Luis Rodriguez Quinones (2017 LHP, Santa Isabel, PR) topped out at 81mph with his fastball mixing in a curveball at 67mph and a slider at 71mph. Quinones has an arm that works well, the ball comes out easy and pounds the strike zone.
Ricardo De La Torre (2017 SS, Juana Diaz, PR) made solid contact at the plate today including doubling in his last at bat. De La Torre has good bat speed with good baseball instincts and runs hard out of the box.
Yashviel Estrada (2017 RHP, Caguas, PR) sat 87-89mph on his fastball to go with his curveball at 73mph and his changeup at 76mph. Estrada pitches from a lower arm slot with an easy arm action and a sound delivery. His fastball has good life to it keeping it down in the zone, his changeup keeps hitters off balance and he shows depth to his curveball.
Alexander Castro (2017 RHP, Luquillo, PR) had his fastball sitting 84-88mph with his curveball at 71mph and his slider at 74. Castro pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with tight spin to his curveball with a fast loose arm action.
Jean Barreto (2017 OF, Caguas, PR) made hard contact all three times up at the plate today. Barreto has good bat speed with a line drive swing plane.
Alejandro Maldonado Negron (2017 2B, Coamo, PR) had two hits in the game today for the Maroon team including doubling in his first at bat. Maldonado Negron has a short compact swing at the plate with bat speed and has good instincts on the bases.
Ian Matos (2017 OF, Toa Alta, PR) reached base twice this afternoon. Matos has good bat speed with pop in his bat making consistent barrel contact and the ball explodes off his bat.
