Braiden Ward (2017 SS, Merced, CA) Homered to right field aggressively turning the barrel to contact. Produces consistent, loud contact with carry between the outfield gaps.
Nathan Tholl (2017 1B, Vista, CA) Swing plane has natural lift with solid bat speed through extension. Doubled deep over the left fielders head in game 2 of Saturday.
George Erwin (2017 OF, Aliso Viejo, CA) Flashed solid bat speed while doubled to the left center field gap. Creates good extension through baseball allowing for backspin and carry.
Harrison Spohn (2017 3B, Upland, CA) Very smooth, athletic actions while working at third base. Flashed good arm strength with accurate, on line carry as well. At the plate has very good bat speed that produces very loud contact. Primarily worked the middle of the field with a line drive approach.
Hodaka Usuki (2017 C, Shirakawa, FS) Has a mid-field approach with a smooth, line drive swing plane. Controlled the barrel well throughout the zone and produced a sharp single in his first at bat.
Trevor Smith (2017 MIF, Coronado, CA) Has a balanced, compact path to baseball. Smooth, athletic actions while getting through extension. Produced a sharp, line drive single to center field in first at bat.
Drew Sims (2017 C, Winchester, CA) Has an athletic, repeatable swing at the plate. Flashed good bat speed and strength at contact producing a very sharp single in his first at bat.
Masahiro Ban (2017 LHP, Ota, TK) Went three innings allowing zero runs on four hits. Fastball topped at 81 mph with the ability to work to each edge of the plate. Curveball had 9/4 action with some sweeping depth located down in the zone.
Kurt Pitha (2017 RHP, Reno, NV) Fastball jumps out of hand well ranging in the low to mid 80's, topped at 86 mph. Commands the zone well primarily working down at the knees. Pitha allowed on two hits over two innings while not allowing a run.
