2016 World Showcase

3-Columbia Blue vs. 4-Gold
1/2/2016 8:35:44 PM

Mason Frady (2017 RHP, Sharpsburg, GA) showed a compact arm action coming through the back and showed exceptional command of his fastball with sinking life that topped out at 87 mph. Slider flashed big depth and hard spin when on top.

Charlie Greenich (2016 RHP, Covington, GA) has a long and fluid arm stroke that helped produce a fastball that topped out at 88 mph with nice life and angle. He proved to be difficult to square up when located down in the zone and flashed late fading, quality changeup in the upper-70s

Although it didn’t fall for a base hit, Dean Looney (2016 OF, Matthews, NC) connected for possibly the hardest and highest hit ball of the day, an F8 that hung in the air for 6.51 seconds, a number you don’t often get from a high school player.

Livingston Morris (2016 OF, Woodstock, GA) also connected for a loud piece of the bat on a line out to center field that quickly grabbed everybody’s attention with the crack off the barrel.

Leo Delatorre (2016 1B, Sarasota, FL) moved well around the bases after he launched a double to the opposite field gap, one of the better struck balls of the night.

Ike Freeman (2016 SS, Rockwell, NC), a North Carolina commit, went with an outer half pitch to the opposite field for a hard single.

Jacinto Arredondo (2016 RHP, Center Hill, FL) worked off his fastball and attacked hitters, topping out at 88 mph while showing late life down in the zone. He was able to create plane and and creates deception in his delivery which allows his ball to get on top of hitters quickly.

Jackson Boss (2016 RHP, Loganville, GA) used a full arm action and worked from a high three-quarters arm slot to produce a fastball that peaked at 89 mph. He’s able to generate late biting life on his slider and as a result is able to create swings and misses.

Luis Veloz (2016 OF, Woodland Park, NJ) has a lean and projectable build that will continue to get stronger though he lined a sharply hit ball into left field that cracked loudly off the bat.

Tyler Mattes (2016 RHP, Lakewood Ranch, FL), who also showed well with the bat earlier in the day topped out at 86 mph with his fastball and showed three separate off speed pitches including a big curveball, a mid-70s slider and had comfort throwing his changeup.

Alexander Decker (2016 RHP, Kettering, OH) closed out the game for his team as well and topped out at 87 mph with his fastball. The righthander also showed comfort throwing his changeup, an effective offering that he ran up to 78 mph.
