2015 Caribbean Top Prospect

Batting Practice Highlights
11/19/2015 7:29:00 PM

Francisco Del Valle (2016 OF, Santa Isabel, PR) lifted the only home run of the BP and the left handed hitter didn't even square it up, he just back spun it so hard with big bat speed that it kept carrying.  He's a top level hitting prospect.

Jose Layer (2016 OF, San Juan, PR) has simple and easy actions at the plate, with lots of bat speed and looseness in his swing.  It's the type of approach that will translate well to the next level.

Alexis Torres (2016 SS, Caguas, PR) is best known for his athletic defensive ability but he can swing the bat, too.  He has a solid middle of the field approach and flashes left centerfield gap power.

Eric Ortiz (2016 C, Aguadilla, PR) is a 6-3/210 switch hitting catcher, which is a pretty rare demographic to start with.  His right handed swing was solid but his left handed bat speed and power potential really stood out.

Abdel Guadalupe (2015 OF, Fajardo, PR) saved his main fireworks for the game Thursday but he showed his strength and  power potential in batting practice as well.

Ricardo J. Cardona (2016 OF, San Sebastian, PR) gets your  attention with his strong 6-3/190 build and keeps it with a short and direct swing that impacts the ball hard consistently.  His best contact was driving the right centerfield gap.

Luis Angel Rivera (2016 SS, Coamo, PR) looks stronger than his listed 5-11/170 build and shows that strength in his swing.  He attacks the ball aggressively and is looking to drive it hard to all parts of the field.

Kevin Santiago (2016 MIF, Jayuya, PR) has a simple rock back/move forward load and a direct line drive swing that squares the ball up consistently.
