2014 PG Underclass All American Games

Royal and Vegas Gold BP Highlights
8/12/2014 3:11:50 AM
SS Daniel Bakst (New York, NY):  Bakst took one of the best BP's of the day.  He has fast hands and an outstanding flow and shift towards contact.  When he can start repeating that approach against live pitching consistently he's going to become a real stand out.

C Tyler Duvall (Lebanon, OH):  Duvall has the strength to create power but looks like he chooses to stay short to the ball with a very high ratio of square line drive contacts.  That will serve him well in the future.

C Herbert Iser (Miami, FL):  Iser has all the ingredients to be an elite level hitter.  He's loose and extended with outstanding bat speed and the aggressiveness in attacking pitches that few possess.  Get used to seeing his name at the top of the 2016 prospect lists.

CF JeVon Carrier-Ward (Long Beach, CA):  This is what 2013 PG All-American Marcus Wilson looked like at the same age.  Ward isn't strong enough to drive the ball with authority yet but it's just a matter of time.....his swing works very well right now.

SS Nicholas Quintana (Las Vegas, NV):  Quintana has already established himself as one of the elite hitters in the 2016 class and we doubt that anything will happen to change that.  Think about the Nationals' Anthony Rendon as the comp.

OF Wyatt Featherston (Lakewood, CO):  Featherston is extra strong at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds and that strength translates into lots of present bat speed and gap power.

3B Ray Gaither (Coppell, TX):  Gaither is a difficult hitter to evaluate.  When he lets the barrel go and tries to drive the ball, he has very high level tools and potential.  Too often, though, he takes a low ceiling exaggerated inside approach to contact.  He'll learn with time and experience at higher levels.

1B Mitchell Hagan (Omaha, NE):  Hagan has a rare profile as a big bodied first baseman who is a true switch-hitter with power from both sides of the plate.
