Phillip Evans is a 2011 SS with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Carlsbad, CA who attends LaCosta Canyon HS. Medium build but excellent present strength. 7.15 runner but plays much faster, very good balance and actions at SS, quick release, soft hands, can make all the throws. Right handed hitter, glides into his swing, very good flow, long fluid swing with plus extension, shows present power, can drive the ball out of the ball park, polished hitter with a feel for the barrel. Has a ball player's instincts and makeup. Good student, verbal commitment to San Diego State. Selected for the Aflac All-American team.
