2005 South Top Prospect Showcase
Pecoraro is a slender 5-8, 155 lb senior middle infielder from Texas. He's a 7.29 runner in the 60 and showed 75 mph arm strength during drills. Pecoraro is a polished defensive middle infielder who has balanced actions, smooth hands and a good release on his throws. He profiles best at second base but showed that he could handle the routine play at shortstop, too. Offensively, Pecoraro has a short swing with a good line drive swing plane. He made consistent solid contact in batting practice and lofted a few to the outfield during the games. The wood bat might have been a little heavy for Pecoraro but he looks like a good young hitter who knows what he's doing at the plate and is probably a high average type hitter with metal. More strength will help him offensively down the road. Pecoraro also took a turn on the mound and threw 77 mph with a quick short arm action and a 61 mph curveball. He threw strikes and looks like he might be an effective secondary pitcher at the high school level. Pecoraro is also a very good student.
