Hugh Adams is a 2008 RHP/1B from St. John's College HS in Bethesda, MD with a 6'4", 200 lb. frame. Hugh has an outstanding build and was one of the more projectable players at the event. On the mound Hugh throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a long smooth arm action that produces a lot of run and sink on the ball. Hugh has a quick arm that should only see his velocity get higher and he broke alot of bats at the showcase. He showed good command and a curveball that looks like it could develop into a hard slider in time. At the plate Hugh is a strong kid that has good raw power potential. His swing can get wrapped and long at times and he will need to make adjustments to handle top-level pitching. Hugh showed off a big arm in the outfield, but looks like he might fit in best at first base in the field. Hugh was one of the most projectable players at the event and should be a highest-level college prospect in the next year with some possible draft attention.
