2007 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Ryan Remlinger is a 2008 3B/C with a 6'1'', 190 lb. frame from Fullerton, CA who attends El Dorado HS. He was selected as a Top Prospect and we expect Remlinger to do nothing but get better and better in the coming years. He actually has the look of a young pro prospect though he likely will have to wait for that opportunity in college. Remlinger has a strong and rangy build that will continue to fill out into a physical body. He has a chance to really hit at the higher levels of the game. Remlinger has good hitting hands that stay ahead of the barrel and allow him to square up at contact with balance and power. That power is still developing but it will happen for him. He makes strong opposite field contact and stays on the ball as he drives through contact. Remlinger also has the look of an above average defensive 3rd baseman. His feet move well laterally and he has quiet, smooth actions. He has a quick release and a solid arm that will get stronger. Remlinger was best moving to his left. He also showed some versatility by going behind the plate and showing projectable skills at the position too. Some college program is going to get a future star in the spring period when they get Remlinger to commit.
