Gage Mestas is a 2021 SS/2B with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Durango, CO who attends Durango. Medium athletic build with room to fill out as he continues to develop, posted a 6.90 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary infielder, makes solid first step reads and moves well to either side. Gathers the ball cleanly and efficiently. Very fluid through his gather and transfer. Raw infield ability that stands to make huge jumps with a little fine tuning. At the plate, uses an upright and even stance with a higher handset and a simple stride trigger. Swing stays short and compact throughout, flat barrel plane through the zone. Hands consistently work to the inner half of the baseball, great student in the classroom as well.
