Aaron Correa is a 2006 LHP from Kamehameha HS, residing in Hilo, HI with a 6'1" 175 lb. frame. Correa has a lean and athletic body type with strength. He has a good pitcher's build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot and has a clean and shallow arc on the backside. Basically it is a pretty easy and simple delivery, with good timing and direction toward plate. Correa's lower half works well, providing him with a good base and balance during the delivery. His body control is good and allows him to reach good extension. That extension allows Correa's fastball to come out pretty easily, if not with big velocity (76-80), with some sneakiness and decent arm side action. He has a two plane curveball (70-72) with late rolling/slippery movement and can throw the breaker for strikes. Correa's change-up feel is still developing and at times that pitch shows nice floating action. Correa has some pitchability and aggressiveness to zone, suggesting that he has a chance to get outs at the college level. On offense Correa leans back to stay behind the ball and showed a flat swing that at times was short to the ball. His future in college baseball is on the mound and Correa has the repertoire and command that should earn him an opportunity and innings when he gets that opportunity.
