Caleb Abshire is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Westlake, LA who attends Westlake HS. Recorded a 7.40 60-yard dash. Shorter frame with room left on the build to add strength. Primary pitcher, has an easy, repeatable delivery with a soft stab in the back through a medium arm action. Threw exclusively from the stretch with a very easy effort level on the delivery. Pounded the strike zone in the lower third and got a lot of weak ground balls. Deliberate footwork and actions in the outfield with a short arm action in the back. Transfers and release was quick from the outfield. Flashed bat speed at the plate with present wrist strength and will continue to gain power as he develops physically. Good student.
