Ethan Gardner is a 2020 C/RHP/OF with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Sicklerville, NJ who attends Timber Creek. Medium frame with a slender build and room to add moving forward. Ran a 7.56 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Sets up in a lower stance to start behind the plate. Has quickness in footwork coming out of the stance. Gains short ground out and into a compact release topping out at 67 MPH and popping a 2.11 during workouts. Righthanded hitter with an upright and open stance. Short stride out into weight transfer load. Upward swing path showing the ability to get the barrel to the ball on time. Looks mostly to work the pull side of the field. Secondary righthanded pitcher working exclusively from the stretch. Loose arm action in the back and into a three-quarter slot release. Gets to extension well and creates plane on the fastball at 75 MPH. Will mix in a looser spinning curveball through an 11-to-5 shape later in counts. Good student as well.
