Andrew Vladyka is a 2018 C/RHP, OF with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Jacksonville, NC who attends Jacksonville. Large frame with broad shoulders and strength. Ran a 7.01 sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a low, athletic stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground while working out of crouched with sound footwork. Quick, clean glove to hand exchanges and released from a three-quarters slot. Repeated throwing actions well generating accurate carry to the the the bag. Topped at 74 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.01. Left handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple front side trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Simple, direct hand path to baseball with a slightly lifted barrel plane through extension. Barrels stayed in the zone well and consistently created hard contact. Flashed the hand speed to turn the barrel and work to pull side with solid jump off the barrel as well. Also pitched utilizing a smooth paced leg lifted delivery. Clean take back and released from a loose, high three-quarters arm slot. Tends to land at a slightly closed position with front side generating some crossfire at release. Created good downhill tilt through the zone with a fastball that flashed some fun to arm side in the low 80's, topped at 83 miles per hour. Flashed an 11/5 breaking ball that had tight spin with late depth. Primarily relied on fastball to challenge hitters down in the zone. Excellent student.
