Jacob Caffrey is a 2017 3B/2B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Yakima, WA who attends West Valley HS. Medium-large frame with slender, athletic present build and good room to continue filling out frame. Ran 7.33 seconds in the 60 yard dash. Hits with overall smooth and fluid hitting mechanics; shows easy gap power at present that should develop into more over the fence power with additional utilization of lower half in swing as well as continued strength gains. Works to both gaps at present; hits the ball into the air with good carry and can generate backspin. Worked out defensively in the infield. Shows athletic actions to the ball with quickness and range; fields cleanly and transfers well from glove to hand, solid release with infield velocity topping out at 70 MPH across the diamond. Very good student.
