Blake Burzell is a 2018 RHP with a 6-6 205 lb. frame from Laguna Beach, CA who attends Laguna Beach HS. Long and lanky athletic build, very projectable physically. High leg lift delivery, 3/4's to high 3/4's arm slot, quick arm with good extension out front, gets angle to his pitches. Low 90's fastball, topped out at 94 mph, maintained his velocity well with lots of upper range velocities, throws strikes with his fastball to both sides of the plate, hard running action to the arm side. Went between a curveball and slider, good depth to the curveball at times with 11/5 shape. Very high ceiling young right hander. Exceptional basketball player who averaged 23 points/game as a junior. Good student, verbal commitment for baseball to Duke. Compares to 2015 PG All-American Matt Manning. Selected for the 2017 Perfect Game All-American Classic.
