Eric Rodriguez is a 2017 SS/OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Paterson, NJ who attends Passaic Co Tech High School. Medium, athletic frame with a lean, projectable build and plenty of room to fill with additional strength. Ran a 5.13 40-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front and does a nice job of working through through the ball, quick arm and shows plenty of arm strength across the diamond. Shows range up the middle and quick feet, has some effort at release and occasionally gets under throws. From the outfield shows similar big arm strength, moves to the ball well and did a nice job of getting on top of throws from a high arm slot, extra step at release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance, mostly upper body swing but is able to create some torque in hips. Short and quick path to the ball, shows quickness to hands with a line drive swing plane. Occasionally gets to front side early but can create separation in swing when looking to lift. Named to Northeast Indoor Top Prospect List.
