Sean Szalapski is a 2017 RHP with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Serra HS. Szalapski has a long lean build with room to fill out and add strength. Primary RHP, up to 84 on mound, short arm action to a 3/4 arm slot. Has good arm quickness with good extension. Delivery is online with good use of the lower half. Fastball has arm side run and worked lower part of zone and got ground balls consistently. Curveball had 11/5 spin with solid spin and break, has potential to develop into a swing and miss pitch. Also showed a fading change up. Defensively showed athletic actions from the OF with a long loose arm action. Ball had carry out of hand with a clean quick exchange. Hit from an open stance with a leg lift trigger. Compact line drive swing plane with good extension.
