Nathaniel Thomas is a 2007 C/OF with a 6'1'', 172 lb. frame from Earlville IA, who attends Beckman HS. He has a nice projectable frame and good strength projection. Thomas threw 72 mph during catching drills with a best pop time of 2.06. He has an easy, long arm stroke and was very accurate in his throws. Thomas is a good athlete and good speed (7.09 in the 60) and can play multiple positions in addition to catching. Offensively, Thomas hits from an upright stance with high hands and a short stride into the ball. He has a nice line drive swing path and uses his hands well to hit through the ball. Thomas has good bat speed and some present pop in his bat. He stayed back on curveballs well. Thomas is a good looking young hitter who should keep improving as he gets stronger. He's a nice all around prospect with good tools for the next level. Thomas is also a good student.

Nate Thomas is a 2007 catcher/outfielder from Beckman High School in Earlville, Iowa, with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame. Thomas has a nice and projectable body. Defensively he has calm and compact actions behind the plate. He has a quiet set-up and receives the ball well with soft hands. Thomas showed very good pop times under 2.00 during the workout with quick transfers. He is a solid catcher. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a tall stance and a wide base. Thomas uses a no load approach and stays balanced throughout his swing. He has a rotational swing and makes his best contact on fastballs on the inner third of the plate. Thomas has solid bat speed with an aggressive approach, and shows power to his pull side. He has the tools to develop into a solid hitter at the next level. Thomas is also a very good student.
