Matt McGrady is a 2017 2B with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Clovis, CA who attends Buchanan HS. Young athletic build, some present strength, especially in the lower half, with more to come. Left handed hitter, lots of present tools with the bat. Spread stance with good balance and some shift into contact, short and quick swing with the ability to turn and pull the ball hard and to stay back and drive the ball to left centerfield, sees the ball well and explodes his hands, ball comes off the barrel well. 7.58 runner, has good hands at the ball and will make the routine play, makes accurate throws. Key to his development will be improving his overall athleticism and speed; the bat will take care of itself. Hustling player who enjoys playing and is aggressive. Excellent student.
