Daniel Swastek is a 2018 RHP/1B with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends Lincoln Park HS. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders, long limbs and a lean, projectable frame with additional room to fill out. Ran a 7.94 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, works with a full arm action coming through the back with a low three-quarters release point. Shortens arm circle at release, low effort at release, falls off towards first base but gets extension out front. Also able to generate running life on fastball from release point, topped out at 67 mph, pitched to contact and mixed in a curveball with loose rotation and short life. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a lower hand set in the box. Upper body swing with a line drive swing plane, better timing will help develop more consistency with contact. Excellent student.
