Grayson Nix is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Roswell, GA who attends The Lovett School. Medium build and frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.09 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher, worked exclusively from the stretch, leg raise past belt, hip turn, short stride, full arm action through the back, and threw from a three quarter arm slot. Extension down the mound with slight effort at release. Hid the ball well with slight crossfire action. Fastball worked 73-76 mph with arm side life and worked effectively down in the zone. Repeated well and was around the zone generating lots of ground ball contact. Showed a curveball with short break and 11/5 shape. Changeup showed fade down in the zone with good spin up to 69 mph. Secondary outfielder, similar full arm action, short steps to the ball, accuracy to the bag, and carry when working on top of the ball. At the plate, started with a wide base, tall stance, high hand set, and a deeper hand load. Swing primarily worked through hands with quickness through the zone. Inside out approach at the plate with an opposite field oriented swing. Developing bat speed with a longer path. Would improve at the plate with additional lower half incorporation.
