2017 PG Top Prospect Games at TCU
Jared Younce is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-1 176 lb. frame from Round Rock, TX who attends Stony Point High School. Medium, athletic build with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary righthanded pitcher, gets tall on backside with a leg lift just up past belt, strides on line with a short, on line arm action through the backside working to a three-quarters release point. Able to generate plane on fastball, topped out at 86 mph and maintained velocity well, mostly true with occasional running life to arm side. Mixes well and shows confidence in three off speed pitches. Curveball shows 11-5 shape with tight rotational to either side of plate; slider up to 78 mph with 10-4 shape with short and late bite. Turns over changeup well up to 77 mph, maintains arm speed on release; shows ability to throw any pitch in any count with solid pitchability, good athlete off the mound. Swung the bat well from the left side of the plate, begins with an open stance and shows a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Strides on line moving into contact, easy swing path with loose hands and looks to hit the ball out front. Handles the barrel well, contact oriented approach and able to work all fields wtih a line drive swing plane, repeats swing with consistent contact. Named to PG Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List.
